Pashupatinath
Pashupatinath is one of the most significant Hindu temples of Shiva in the world. It is located on the banks of the Bagmati River in the eastern part of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The temple serves as the seat of the national deity, Lord Pashupatinath. The temple is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites list.
The temple is regarded as the most sacred among the temples of Shiva. Only Hindus are allowed to enter the main temple. Others could look at it from other side of the river. Open Hindu cremations take place on one side of this holy river (which ends in the Indian Ganges river).
For bikers: This temple is easy to reach. It is located 4 kms away from the tourist area; being Thamel which fosters a vivid nightlife and tourist friendly hotels.
