Dhunche

The village of Dhunche used to be the starting point of the Langtang trekking route. A newly constructed 60 kilometers highway now runs through Dhunche, lessening the trek’s distance. However, the village is successful at making you feel like you’re on a trekking experience without the hiking. The hotels and restaurants’ locations take advantage of the view over some famous peaks. Though relatively close to Kathmandu, the Langtang range is best observed here.

For bikers: Dhunche is 110 kilometers from Kathmandu but since the road is far from being straight the journey takes longer than expected (around 4 hours). From the other hand, it is a much quieter road to drive on in comparison with the highway leading to Pokhara.
